From Sandy: Sandy Garzia, a Delta Airlines Flight attendant received a Love Card during one of her flights from a passenger. She was moved by the power of the card and immediately ordered some for herself so that she could spread love. Sandy has been a world traveler for most of her adult life. She traveled to Ghana and fell in love with children from an orphanage there. When she is not a flight attendant, she has a vibrant Etsy account that makes African inspired textiles, clothing, accessories and sneakers. All the proceeds from her products go toward funding an education for the children from her Ghanaian orphanage. Each item sold from her Etsy account is packaged and shipped with a Love Card. Sandy has been ordering Love Cards for 4 years. She is a bright light filled with love.
From PB: "Your cards arrived at our school today. I am a counselor here. I have never seen such a wave of joy wash over the students in the halls as I did today! What a brilliant idea! These kids are having a ball giving love to each other and reaching out to those whom they have never connected with before! Every school should have these! Thank you. We are ordering more! "
Anonymous: “Hi I am writing to tell you that tonight my son received one of these cards from a customer he doesn't know who she is. This woman has no idea how she helped my son. Sean is 20 and has suffered from depression and social anxiety his whole life. This is something he needed to see and feel and he did! She made his night. He immediately texted me this picture. I hope she sees this and knows she gave this card to the right person. He will also do the same.”
From JA: "Someone left one on my car. I sat in my car for 20 minutes hysterically crying because I work at a hospital and was having a rough day. This made my day."
From Kiera: "Recently at a Whole Foods, a cashier friend came over to me (I am the manager) and said that she had been having a terrible day in every way. And then this really wonderful woman had come in and taken the time at the register to say something kind and had given her this really amazing card, The Love Card. She said it had made all the difference in her day and made it possible for her to turn things around and face the rest of her shift; not only that, but she was able to face it with a smile!"
From MJN: "My oldest son brought me one when he went Christmas shopping because someone gave it to him. He is 33, and rarely ever says he loves me. He is just not like that. It meant more to me than the present he bought me. Thank you!!!!"
The love card’s power at JFK. "Recently my husband and I were traveling to Denmark to visit our daughter who is studying abroad. We were traveling with some ache in our heart, as she was quite sick. We wanted to get there as soon as we could to nurse her back to health. We parked our car in long term parking and got in line at the ticket counter to check in. When it was our turn to check in, the agent found our names, but then apologized saying that there were no confirmed reservations for the flight and that the flight was completely sold out!! We were in shock and were quickly asked to get on another line at the end of the counter called the “rebooking line”. There were three people ahead of us in line and several behind us; each of us with a difficult stressful situation. In front of me was a young man from India. He was completely out of his mind with stress and anxiety. As the ticket agent was trying to help the passengers ahead of him in line, he just kept saying ”this is how Delta treats their customers? This is unacceptable. This is so unprofessional.” He was getting angrier and angrier by the minute and the agent had to reprimand him several times, saying “please sir!! We are doing our best. You are not helping the situation at all!” People on the line were getting quite uncomfortable too. I took a deep breath and approached him as gently as I could. I told him that we too were dealing with a very stressful situation and that I was sorry he was having such a hard time too. And then I handed him a LOVE CARD. He took it from me and then took the deepest breath. He said thank you and then started to tell me about his situation (which was similar to ours). I asked him where he was from and we went on to talk about lots of other things. He was a very sweet man and was softening with every breath he took. When the agent was ready to help him he looked at me with the warmest brown eyes and said, “I insist you go before me. Thank you so much for this kind card and for helping me calm down. I am sorry I was so angry.” When I went up the agent I invited my new Indian friend to come up with me and I asked the two of them if they would shake hands. They did and each smiled at each other with tear filled eyes and apologized. It was absolutely wonderful. I gave everyone a Love Card who was in line and gave a handful to my Indian friend. Who knows what happened from that moment on, but it was an incredible experience to see this transformation. Thank you."
Anonymous: "I picked up a few cards at my counselor's office as I was immediately drawn to the look of them and what was written on them. Today I finally looked it up on the internet and I love what I found out! An awesome concept that I would like to share and when I am able I will also support through donations. Thank you so much for your love!"
From PS: "I truly believe this is a message people can use right now. It doesn't take a lot of effort to make someone feel cared for. I do want you to know that this is one of the most beautiful pass it along movements I have seen."
From EK:"When I was on vacation in Belfast, ME over the summer I visited the stand and absolutely loved the idea! As a psychology major, I began a Mental Health Initiative last semester in my Honors College. I am hosting an event all about compassion instead of comparison, and how to build healthy relationships. I can't wait to hand these out!
From PT: "Christmas day I shared The Love Card with a distant family member. She was so thrilled that someone had thought of her so fondly. She was overwhelmed with joy. This beautiful woman was so impressed she has made a commitment to share with several of her clients. I am so grateful that someone passed The Love Card to me in a public setting."
From KS: "I am a waitress at a local Cheesecake Factory. It was a rainy Friday night and I was in charge of the to-go customers. They pull their car up into a parking spot behind the restaurant, and I go out and get their names and the n retrieve their food and take their payment. On this particular night, there were many unusually irritable, crabby customers. One man in particular was so frustrated and short tempered because he could not find an empty spot, that he aggressively pulled his truck onto the sidewalk and as he exited his vehicle he slammed the door behind him. He was the next customer I had to wait on and I was dreading it. So I took care of the customer before him and as she drove away I noticed that next to her credit card receipt was a small pile of these adorable Love Cards. As soon as I read it, my heart felt light. The shift in just "feeling" the love from the words and heart on the card were palpable. My entire night turned around. I then gave my customers one at a time a Love Card. Even the angry man in his truck smiled and softened after I gave him one. They are magic! I just LOVED giving them away. The rest of my night was truly love-filled and positive.”
From BC: "I was traveling south to deliver my daughter to college when the Charlottesville incident occurred. When I walked in the restaurant attached to the Comfort Inn in Raleigh, NC, to have breakfast, the TV was blaring all the bad news. I couldn't eat. I got up to walk out and a employee of Comfort Inn said "Is everything ok miss?" And I said, "no, our world is a challenging place right now. Things are not ok." She came over and hugged me. We talked. She is a Guam native so knows a little something about confusion and challenge. (At that moment Guam was being threatened by nuclear attack from N Korea). I went back to my room, got a handful of love cards and sought her out. She hugged me again and then brought me to the hotel manager. Everyone got a love card and agreed they were much nicer than watching the news! The manager is contemplating putting them in each room of her hotel! The Love Card makes intimate personal conversations possible. Thank you Love Card!!"
From BC: "My daughter was standing in the TSA line at Providence airport and fainted. Much excitement ensued and she was taken by ambulance to the nearest hospital (she is fine). Sadly, her computer had been put on the belt to go thru security. I called to find out how to get it back and the woman who answered the phone from TSA was so helpful and she expressed genuine concern for my daughter. She then told me about her daughter who had lost her husband one year ago with a brain aneurysm. I asked her if I could have her name and home address - if it wasn't too weird to share that with me. She shared it and a dozen TLC's are on their way to her house to be shared with her daughter. Her daughter is taking a solo journey across the US in October to help heal her broken heart. I'm hoping TLC's help."
From TB: “PURE HAPPINESS! I just received a LOVE CARD from a dear friend, Regina. What a wonderful concept - I'm going to purchase more and spread the LOVE! Thank you for such an amazing creative way to say ... You are LOVED.”
